There, I fixed it.

The zipper on my winter coat broke. That is bad news because the winter is far from over. I think we have another month, or maybe even two. You never quite know. Damn you, Donna Karan ( Read more... )

Yeah, I wonder whether they thought: "Hmm, we know the zipper is crap let's at least make provisions for when it bites the dust."

Didn't even have to use a safety pin. What was your most outrageous stopgap repair?

Oh, I've had to tape up various wheelchairs of mine several times - often using literal sellotape - to hold them together, after accidentally crashing in to stuff in such a way that makes screws fall out! :P

I'm sorry that the zipper on your winter coat broke. It's really bad timing considering that spring is two months away. :-( Well, at least you're able to make do without it, though it doesn't sound like it's much fun to put on your coat.

It's funny what we get used to when something doesn't work, and we have to find a workaround. If enough time passes, we almost forget that it wasn't always this way. *g*

Yeah, it's a bit of a hassle. But after I posted I wondered whether I might get a new one in the end-of-season sales.

I am definitely susceptible to that. Unfortunately, it keeps me being stuck in bad situations far too long before I go and change something about it.
It's like the meme of the cartoon dog sitting in a burning house.
