Oh COME ON!

WTF? I've been working like mad buying anything and everything people have told me they need the last couple days as it's the end of the fiscal year, and I just discovered I'm still $25K UNDER budget! No, I don't want your year-end sales and discount codes - charge me full price! AAAAAAAAAAAAH!

argh, work, money, omg!, wtf?

5 super loaded laptops would do that...with all the programs (WIN7pro, software) and beefed up sound and vid cards....

25 1T-hard drives?

a new car for the Department?

Oddly enough, we do need a new van for the Media techs to get around campus, and we only need like $10K to get a decent one. Alas, I'm not authorized, nor is there time, for that kind of transaction - the best I can do is order the shit out of Staples.

Fortunately, after figuring in some payroll figures and asking around for any last-minute big-ticket items, I think I have the deficeit down to about $10K, which is about how much we want to give back to the college. As long as we don't go over, and come just a tad under budget, it makes TPTB happy (and considering our budget hasn't changed in 10+ years and we still come in the most under budget every year, I think that's pretty damned good).

On the up side, no one's buying things we don't need, nor things that the students aren't going to actually use (well, ok, I'll admit I could've gotten plain Post-Its instead of the spiffy ones I did get, but I'm not the one telling me to use it or lose it!).
