Ah, half dome!

I can relate completely. I try so hard to live in the culture I'm surrounded by and fit in, but honestly, the older I get the less I can pretend. I value different things than other people and I can't relate. My superficiality has changed into... if you love something that gives it value. So many young people devastated because the boy or the girl doesn't find them attractive. So many people brain washed by artificiality and worrying about living up to some ridiculous status quo. Give me a backpack and a good walking stick (and maybe some coffee and weed) and just let me go be... somewhere.

Yes, if you love something it gives it value.... It was special, and then to come back to seeing all those people at work, mostly with dead dreams floating around their eyes, just seemed more obvious, and it's bummed me out. When do people give up on themselves and give in to things they don't like? I think too much maybe

I think they lose hope that there is something better. In this modern age it's hard to see past the computer, the desk, the stuff, the buildings. But for those of us who've seen beyond, it's kind of devastating to HAVE to live in the modern world. A baby laughing, a whole house full of people who love each other and are happy and in good spirits, a wild animal hunting and living in an untouched part of nature. All that stuff means more to me than impossible plastic perfection and hoping I get that minimum wage job so I can struggle for a good life while insanely rich people are so worried about their stuff and their status they can't even enjoy their 'freedom.'

It's hard to find a balance to life in these times. But it's not impossible.
