Okay, SO. You know how I'm not actually physically capable of having an obsession without foisting it on the people around me? (Snoo, earlier, when I tried to make her watch a clip on youtube: "DO NOT TEST MY FRIENDSHIP OVER THE JONAS BROTHERS." Followed by: "Are you talking to the person who got you hooked on this? Would you tell her that I HATE her?")
*beams at you all*
So here's the thing. What this fandom lacks up in volume it makes up for in enthusiasm (and, you know, in Joe and Nick being really, really, really in love). There are only about five people in it, but there are two really fabulous primers, which should you all go read because of the fabulousness:
1 and
2.
And the volume of information about/videos of them on the internet is almost scary, since tweens have a lot of time and nothing better to do. It's actually kind of intimidating, because where do you START? I have spent the last week mainlining pictures and gifs and youtube vids, and I haven't even touched the tip of of iceberg yet. And yet. Semi-organized squeeing is required, because even though I have spent the last week shrieking with
sevenfists and
novaberry and
misskittye, THIS FANDOM NEEDS MORE PEOPLE.
SO. Here are things that have made me flail in the four minutes I've been obsessed with the Jonas brothers, because if you have a soul, they should totally make you flail too.
This is Nick. Nick is super serious a lot of the time (except around Joe, because he finds everything Joe does completely hilarious, even when it's annoying him) and he's a perfectionist to the point of OCD and he has Type 1 diabetes and, unlike his brothers, he can actually sing. He's also occasionally kind of disturbingly hot, and he's completely in love with his brother, and I'm not going to tell you his age because it makes me feel like a dirty old woman. Have some pictures:
Here he is being so thoroughly charming I defy you not to fall in love with him a little:

This is Joe. He's three years older than Nick, and he's
kind of insane and pretty funny, though nowhere near as funny as Nick thinks he is, which is vast amounts of adorable right there. He's even more in love with Nick than Nick is with him, kind of like Dean in S1. He was
the one who noticed when Nick started dropping weight like crazy and insisted their parents take him to a doctor even though their dad thought it was just a growth spurt, and his hobbies include hanging all over Nick and poking Nick and making Nick laugh as much as possible. He's not as cute as his brother, but we love him anyway:
There's also Kevin, who is the oldest and... kind of awkward and very home-schooled and so aggressively uncool it almost comes around to cute, and Frankie, who is only 7, but who still has his own band and who, like Joe,
loves Nick best. They are, however, tertiary characters, because did I mention the part where Joe and Nick are in love?
They are totally in love.
A lot.
They just... can't stop touching each other. Or beaming at each other. Or climbing all over each other. See the
primer for much, more evidence of this. Or look at a few shiny pictures here (the ones I didn't steal from the primers I found by googling "Joick," because apparently I have neither shame nor pride):
I'd ask if they could be any more adorable, but they totally can, and we have the youtube vids to prove it. With bonus MP4 files, since I, um. Might have converted them so I could put them on my iPod. (You know what's fun? Having the businessman sitting next to you on the train look over, realize you are watching music videos with teen heartthrobs half your age, and shoot you a look of half-disgust/half-amusement. Not that that happened to me or anything).
- In which Nick sings "A Little Bit Longer" (which he wrote about being diagnosed with diabetes) and Joe sits to the side just LOOKING at him with that gonna-love-you-til-I-die expression we've seen on Dean's face so many times as he looks at Sam, and you know he's reliving that whole period when he was terrified for his baby brother like he does EVERY TIME even though he's heard Nick sing it a billion times, and it totally just makes my heart clench: (MP4)

- In which there is so much love and adorableness crammed into four seconds I don't even know where to BEGIN: (MP4)

- In which they're just such boys and such brothers and Joe is all deadpan and Nick can't stop cracking up. I love love LOVE how Nick is all serious all the time but Joe always turns him back into a kid again, and the way his whole face lights up when they're goofing around with each other. It reminds me of the whole Dom&Billy "When we're making each other laugh, I don't see anyone else in the room" thing: (MP4)

- In which Nick attempts to get his revenge, which isn't anywhere near as funny but is totally worth it for that moment when Nick just can't keep a straight face even though what Joe said really wasn't very funny: (MP4)

- In which they bicker about their super powers. I am endlessly amused that Joe says Nick's superpower is "talent." But more by the bickering. And by poor Kevin: (MP4, and there's a much clearer version here)

- In which Joe and Nick kind of adorably fake-fight over smoothies: (MP4)

- In which Nick tells Joe not to touch him and Joe takes it as a challenge (at about 2:10) (MP4):

- In which Joe pokes at Nick and Nick totally won't let go of him and they are SO CUTE I CAN'T STAND IT: (MP4)

And here are some some non-Joe/Nick specific examples of Jonas brothers adorableness:
- In which they are too dangerous for the country club. They teach those uptight prudes how to ROCK! By, um, doing a cover of a Little Mermaid song. They are such BABIES here! But I think my favorite part is when they peel off their shirts to jump into the pool, and they have wet-suit shirts on underneath. Because god forbid their bodies be defiled by the lusting eyes of fans: (MP4)

- In which they bring out Frankie and his BFF to play on "Love Bug," and then Joe dances with them, and it's kind of insanely cute: (MP4)

IN CONCLUSION. Nick and Joe are really in love. And kind of awesome. And you should all start shipping them. And writing stories about them. And NOT JUDGING ME.
Um. I have not deserted Sam and Dean! This is just, you know, a BONUS significantly less angsty fling.
