Okay, SO. YES, the whole idea of the Jonas brothers fandom is hugely, hugely embarrassing. Yes, they are the personification of Non-Threatening Boys(tm) invented to give preteens funny new feelings, and they wear purity rings and talk about god all the time. Yes, the fandom is rather painfully referred to as Jobros and the pairing is even more painfully referred to as Joick, which is a new low in a category that started a few miles below the barrel. And yes, for some unfathomable reason a significant part of the fandom seems to revolve around being really excited about how the youngest two brothers supposedly don't give a shit about the oldest one ("LOOK HOW MUCH THEY IGNORE HIM I BET HE'S SO SAD AND LONELY ALL THE TIME SQUEE!!!1111"), which squicks me on kind of a profound level. And that's before you even get to the whole underage incest with real people thing.
BUT. Nick and Joe are... just kind of in love. No, really. They are. You don't have to take my word for it. Look at the gifs novaberry sent me instead:
You KNOW most of SPN fandom, even the ostensibly sane parts, would all be SCREAMING and writing dissertations about how men who are not gay and fucking each other do NOT touch each other like that if that was Jensen and Jared, which means NONE OF YOU CAN JUDGE ME OMG. I'M JUST SAYING.
AND. Nick and Joe always share a hotel room when they tour and sometimes when Nick is stuck inside doing schoolwork while Joe and Kevin get to go play Joe comes and hugs him goodbye and says "I love you" and Joe was the one who noticed that something was wrong was Nick was losing a bunch of weight because he hadn't been diagnosed with diabetes yet and they bicker and make each other laugh hang all over each other onstage and DID YOU LOOK AT THOSE GIFS? With the hugging and the rocking and touching and the LOVE?
So I'm kinda smitten. And spending too much time reading primers and watching youtube vids (although I have thus far managed not to hear any of their music, which is undoubtedly a good thing), and watching Nick and Joe make each other laugh and grope each other and smile goopily at each other and melting a lot, because I'm a sap like that.
That is.. probably all the embarrassment one post can handle, so I'm going to slink away in shame. But I want you to know I cut out like three paragraphs about how Jensen/Nick would be the hottest thing ever, so YOU SHOULD ALL BE THANKING ME.
