Four cucumbers???! And I thought Bartholomew was a prima donna!
There was much contract contract wrangling before Indy would consent to appear Does this mean that if you go on strike Indy will continue to get paid? ;)
Love this possibly the most ever of the Bartholomew series. Well I have to say I feel sorry for Lord Hornblower for once - suffering all the symptoms of new parenthood er, " scratch withdrawal" ]AND getting the Naval gazette with bits chewed out I bet! I love Indy - even though I think the old gal herself is saying " tortoise harrumph( ok her vocabulary is a bit derived from her commmander I admit) I was never that slow!" But four cucumbers for evry lamb chop - Indy could advise Max Clifford himself, Going to laugh about this all day !Thank you
There wouldn't be much left then - of the naval gazette that is ! but it must be an age thing -I am really having a week of " Even old gits need love " mode and this is extending to Lord H ( after all Archie gets enough love and sympathy for 10 - as is his due of course) and I mean would you go off to art class and leave Lord H with anything or anyone -needing that kind of care?!! * ok - i give in - it IS an age thing*

Honestly though, Lord Hornblower is such a drama queen. "The beast" indeed! As eglantine_br said, it's no wonder he doesn't get anything scratched!

But Bartholomew loves him! Lord H is his fifth favorite person in the world!
And he's Mr. Kennedy's third favorite! :P
