I hate the "(heteroaromantic) asexuals aren't queer"-people. I want to punch them in the face. I just have it like, "if you want there to make some fucking rules for who're queer then you have seriously missed the fucking point of being queer, you fucking idiot". Which is exactly the reason I don't socialise in those circles either. It's too fucking narrowminded and like you say, elitist. Not to mention, a fucking mindfield of making 'wrong' comments or assumptions or having 'wrong' opinions. I will never, ever be able to understand how a minority who's gone through so much shit and oppression can exercise the same bullshit towards the people in their very midst. Sigh.

I'm researching the origins of the ace discourse (or going down a special interests rabbit hole on purpose, whichever) and I have to say, after living through years of truly horrific ace discourse on tumblr, and then going over to twitter and finding that the ace discourse never caught on BUT they're ecstatic to spend a year attacking anyone using "bi lesbian" before they start eating pansexuals alive....

you are damn right we have some serious problems.
