Okay, okay. Last Big Dog entry for now :P

I found that the Boston Dynamics folks have their own YouTube page where you can see all the official vids of this critter for yourself. This one shows Big Dog using LIDAR to track and follow a human being through the woods. It's totally autonomous, no human handler/driver :O

I think it's creepier ever since someone pointed out to me that the way the legs are articulated, it looks like two stump-legged people hunched over head-to-head, stumbling their way blindly through the terrain.

Definite Silent Hill vibes.

so autonomous robots don't bother me that much because i worked with one for about a year, but the buzzing sound is what really scares the shit out of me with bigdog ._.
