I can relate to the hobby fanatic phase thing. I almost went through it with beading too, but I was broke and couldnt buy anything. I wanted to try and knit a wrist watch band, with beads on the edges. I still do. But I have to get past the broke thing first.

One of the cool things about beading and knitting and other such hobbies, is that you can plan and design them in your head until the point when you do have the time or funds to do it. When you get the chance to do that watch band, you're going to know exactly what threads, what colours, what stitch, what beads you want to use.

from a fellow beader (from way back, i started up beading again many years ago and have continued...) they're great!!!! you know your colours, pretty necklaces! and i know just what you mean about the gift thing, i have reworked presents 5 times over and not been satisfied, and meekly handed over a present only to have friends absolutely love it!!!!
i tried selling jewellery on ebay. a few items sold but most didn't and it was far too much hassle (weighing, postage etc) that i gave up that idea. all the boring stuff that isn't the actual jewellery making ends up taking up too much time.
good luck...
