Agreed about Tenent and Mulan. For Mulan, I think it's extra bad that Hollywood is about representation and making sure cultures are presented correctly, yet there's so much...Americanization in Mulan. Like we were saying, it's one thing when it's an animated film that didn't take itself too seriously. It's quite another to have a film that takes it self very seriously.

It's good that you're getting back to football watching. Often times, I feel like I'm forcing you to watch too much drama. But this year, at least I can blame lack of live sports on COVID.

It was like Mulan had the bad Chinese aspects like bad CGI and weird visuals, but not the actual Chinese story or influence in those aspects. And in general, it was just a really uninteresting, try-hard serious movie, which wasn't good in action, heart, comedy, or story...

I'm really excited about Dune coming out in December but I'm nervous about seeing it in the theater. Your experience makes me feel a little better.

I've heard good things about The Three-Body Problem but I've not read it.

I was just talking about how I should re-read Dune because I wasn't overly impressed by it. So I'll probably try to check it out again since conceptually it seems like a story that I'd enjoy. I saw the old 80s movies a long time ago (which I don't remember much of) and I hear that the Sci-Fi mini series was better. But I do think the previews for the new movie look good.

And I thought the experience in the theater was good. It was the first day of reopening, so I don't know if that meant it was just more compliant people, but everyone seemed to be doing the "right" thing.

I only know a few things about The Three-Body Problem so I figure I'll try to read it without knowing too much.

That sounds like a pretty positive experience overall. I kind of wouldn't mind the idea of 40% capacity for now, I'm not a fan of being elbow to elbow with people (especially now)

Mulan sounds real awful. I kind of felt that way coming out of the new Aladdin, these live action remakes are really missing a lot of what makes the animated versions special and fun.

I really dig the new Spider-Man, the swinging is super fun!

At least Aladdin tried to incorporate much of the Disney features like songs and the personality of the Genie. It just didn't do it well. Mulan didn't even try.

I'm enjoying Spider-man a good amount.

I didn't expect it to be good nor was I excited. I guess I was just curious. At least it's somewhat short =P

It's very good, play it if you get a chance (PS5?).
