The Beginning of the Purge

Feb 05, 2011 16:13

Since I am planning to move in a few months, I decided I really need to get a jump on getting organized for it. I do not have an awful lot to move but I would just as soon only have to pack the things I have to take with me. Therefore, I started going through my drawers and closet to see if I can pare down my wardrobe.

In this case, I have decided ( Read more... )

Those are difficult decisions, but worthwhile.

I hope to leave Texas just as I arrived with all my possessions in my car...

Great that you have no problems jettisoning your stuff!!

I would have trouble with that, myself.

My Mom is notorious for holding onto things. I can as well, but have no intention of letting "things" overwhelm me. I moved to Texas with a carload of stuff and plan to leave the same way. Going back to NC is going to be a total fresh start for me...

It sounds like, in purging the tee-shirts, that in a way, you're shedding the past for a more hopeful future. I'm glad you're the kind of guy who sticks his neck out. I admire that!

Yeah - Maria Antoinette stuck her neck out too, and see where she wound up!

:-)

There is always a part of me that has some sense of trepidation, but pretty much when I decide I am going to do something, I make it happen come Hell or high water. The results might be disastrous, or they might be phenomenal, but I would never find out one way or the other unless I make the move. I know your move to MN was a stick your neck out moment, and it was a struggle for a good while there, but you did what you knew in your heart was the correct thing for you to do, and now your stars certainly seem much more in line. I just hope I can remain as positive as you have through all you have been through the past couple of years...

Well, you have me in your corner, regardless of the outcome. The move back to NC is a good one for you. Decide that it is positive! Despite possible bumps in the journey, you can make it success, make it the best move you're ever made!

HUGS!

Thanks Christopher - well said. Yes I am a big old weepy sentimental mess at times...

I made a pretty good dent as I got rid of 20 t-shirts today (average cost to me of each probably $10 when purchased) and still have a full drawer of them. I will have some further tough decisions to make. I also have two tuxedos, so one will go for sure and I am leaning toward letting both go as neither is in the best shape after 12 years of singing gigs when I was with Turtle Creek Chorale. My next project will be shoes, however.
