$6 Skirts

Two skirts from JC Penney, and a sundress from Fashion Bug, all on clearance for about $6.

All are destined for steampunk mods.

The skirts are knee-length.  I plan to remove the side seams in the first one...I'll leave the waistband intact until I see how it lies.  What I've been wanting is a sort of front&back apron, mainly to wear with the "explorer" outfit...but it seems a practical thing in general.  It came with a fabric belt, which I might use to tie the sides together.

The second skirt (also knee-length) is lightweight to the point of being filmy, with lots of neat little detailing.  There's an underskirt that's kind of tight, and attached to the zipper in a funny way, and makes everything hang wrong.  I'll remove that, then use the main skirt as an underskirt.

The third find is a sundress.  Size 12 - the skirt fits fine (surprisingly), but the top is nowhere near big enough.  Horizontal bands of eyelet, with an underskirt.  I'm planning to basically wear it backwards as an underskirt, somehow using the fabric from the top of the sundress as a very minimalist bustle.  This isn't well thought-out yet, and I'm open to suggestions.

Steampunk seems to have sparked some dormant interest in frilly underthings.
Also, I really like fluffy knee-length skirts.  Pity I'm about 20 years too old to wear them well.
