lol, i totally just watched that same documentary. and started cleaning my room and putting old clothes and stuff in bags to throw out.

now i'm watching the 1,000lb man one. gross.

My "fave" part is when they roll him over and you see all the filth and dried up body fluids under him. It's like, if a woodbug had crawled out I wouldn't have been surprised. ^^

I love TLC. No matter how bad you're feeling, you can turn on TLC and watch someone whose life sucks worse than yours.

It was with great apprehension that I looked at that Wikipedia link. I honestly expected to see a picture of my parents' house on there (there are pictures of it online).

Sadly, the rooms in those pictures have nothing on my parents' house.

One of the subjects of the show had her apartment so full of stuff that she had been hoarding that she became a fire hazard for the rest of the building.

Also? Her washroom was completely and utterly cluttered beyond belief. Pretty extreme stuff.

I'd like to think your parents are ok in comparison. Wishful thinking?

It's been a while since I saw the pics, but from what I can recall that woman's house had nothing on Allans parents house. She had shelving from floor to ceiling with pretty much clear and tidy walkways between all the shelves.

how does a person rate a hoarder? by how much they have hoarded or by how chaotic their manner of hoarding is.

I'm assuming you're rating severity on visual messiness?

I lol'd at the commercials for Ludacris and Tommy Lee's Eco Challenge or whatever. OMG IT'S GENE SIMMONS? GRAVE YARD? GREEN HOUSE EFFECT? RECYCLE?
