WHO: Maria Ushiromiya, Mail "Matt" Jeevas WHAT: Maria waits for Matt to come and take her homeee~ WHEN: After this WHERE: At the Train Station~ OTHER: My first log, like, ever ; Please don't hurt me
For Matt, who had rarely hurried a day in his life, actually having to get somewhere quick was a challenge. He tried his best though, at least this time he did. In fact, it didn't take him too long to get to the train station and right here he'd told her to stay there was Maria - the little girl with the crown on her head.
A few more steps and he was walking up to her, giving her a small wave and a wary smile. He really didn't know how to deal with kids.
Maria smiled and waved back, taking a few steps forward herself. Her shoes made a soft clicking noise on the concrete floor. She kept on waving and smiling; trying to give a good impression. Maria, soon, found herself a few inches away from Matt, and also found herself looking up at him. She was rather short compared to him.
"Uuuu~! Hello Matt~ You didn't take long!" Maria smiled, cocking her head to the side.
She then walked a few steps closer and grabbed on to his hand. She smiled at him; this was fun.
To say Matt was shocked when Maria grabbed his hand and smiled was an understatement. First of all, usually the first thing kids learned was not to trust strangers and not go with strangers...but maybe this was the trusting innocence of a relatively normal kid which came with a childhood that wasn't warped with the ideology of a crazy orphanage.
Her hand was so little in his. For once, Matt felt protective of something other than his 360.
"So Maria," He began walking, taking her by the hand, not really used to holding someone's hand in the first place..."How old are you? Are you hungry?"
Two important things. First, because he needed to know just how young the girl he was taking with him was. Second, because children were usually hungry, and when they were hungry they'd cry. The last thing Matt wanted was a crying child on his hands
( ... )
Maria liked the feeling of Matt holding her hand, it made her feel somewhat secure and cared for. Really, she couldn't actually remember the last time that she had held her mothers hand; funnily enough, all the things she could remember about her mothers hand was when she used it to slap her.
"Uuu~, Maria is nine years old," Maria said, "and isn't particularly hungry right now, but Maria would like some sweets, if Matt doesn't mind~"
She smiled again, clasping hard on Matt's hand. Little did Maria know that when she got 'home' a very temperamental blond may or may not kick her right out again.
"We're here~" Matt announced, setting the food he'd ordered for both of them down onto the table. He'd ordered fries a drink and a burger for himself and got Maria a kid's meal with a salad and drink. He set them down before her, moving to sit across from her.
"Uuu~ Thankyou~" Maria smiled, putting her bag on the seat next to her. First, she grabbed the drink; she was rather thirsty, to be honest. She put the straw into her mouth and drunk the drink in a rather loud, slurppy manner. Couldn't really blame her, though.
Setting the drink down, Maria took the fork for the salad and picked at the lettuce, putting some of it in her mouth every minute or so. Slowly, still putting lettuce in her mouth, she brought her head up to look at Matt and smile.
