She's coming over tomorrow for coffee and natter. It's been a quiet weekend with a little bit of essentials shopping, new trousers for work, that kinda thing, I have done alot of ( Read more... )

That's a great tutorial! I use PS7, but I think I can definitely use a couple of those tricks for myself. (And those icons at the bottom of your post are just gorgeous, by the way.)

Cool, thanks! I hope it helps. I used to have PS7 and I can't think on anything I used in this tutorial that can't be done in that version.

What did you do with the levels and the selective colors? I know how to use those layers, but what color did you affect with selective colors and what levels did you set it to for the levels layer?

I can't remember the exact settings. I think that on the selective colour layer I increased the black and white, and lightened the neutral colours, I didn't change any of the other colours.

The effect of the levels layer was quite subtle, just increasing the contrast ever so slightly. I was very careful to enhance the colour rather than drowning it in light or dark. I always prefer to use selective colour and levels in increase contrast rather than the contrast/brightness layer which I find can be really harsh.

Hope this helps!
