What, that old thing again?

More about the corset. But it's now pretty much done, so I'll soon have something different to clutter up your f-list with :)

The only remaining things to do are to finish hand-sewing the inside bottom seam of the binding on one side (it's currently only basted), and track down a 108" brown lace. I've got the black lace from my underbust in it now ( Read more... )

i was reading your description and thinking...

"upside down?"

and then you said it, teehee. the only way i know which way is down on my strapless victorian is the stocking binder loops are on the bottom (on the inside, so not visible if not being used).

as long as i'm home friday (or hell, maybe saturday), i could do up yer hair n'such (you could borrow my boots, but they're a size 10.5 or 11)... it will be dark but your camera does good in that, we have lots of parkland around us (well, around the corner by tom and whimsy's corner), plus night shots will pale yer skin up something good...

just sayin'

I intend to add stocking binder loops at some point (added functionality = good).

I'll need to check with Ken and confirm schedules (we've got a wedding to go to Saturday evening), but that would be great! I have my plain black boots, and there are my lace-up ones that I need to get back from finna_upp, so I'll be ok for shoes (and the skirt is long enough that not much of the shoes would show anyway). Our camera has a good flash and does fairly decent night shots, though a daytime shoot would show the colors better. And I definitely need help with the hair - I'm pretty clueless as to what to do with it. I can do the makeup, since the look is supposed to be fairly natural, unless I change my mind when more of the "mechanical woman" costume bits get done. I may decide to go with less skin showing, and dust whatever does show in a heavy layer of metallic bronze ( ... )

When I got home and realized that was the problem, I had a moment of "but I have to tell them all that it wasn't supposed to look that bad, I just made a mistake..." Then half a second later I realized that would just make me look narcissistic and even more pathetic, so I let it pass.
