That is a LOT of switching of buses and trains to get to your destination. I can see why it's tiring. I can see why people prefer their cars! But - I'm glad you made it and that the trip was a success. I'm also glad you got to Japan town to have another meal. I know you're tired, but that is a place you love so much and would seem worth it. :)
There are some benefits to being able to drive a car, for sure, and for going to UCSF it could be a bonus, although driving into San Francisco isn't always simple, especially if you have to go anywhere near rush hour.
Yes, there are really good things about going to Japan Center, but the long trip is just about more than I can handle physically, and then I am pretty much out of commission for the next few days. So I think I will need to figure out some ways to shorten it and try to make it more manageable, and also hopefully make the recovery process better afterwards too.
There are a few decent little restaurants near UCSF that we went to when Rosie was there and Rick or I needed some non hospital food...ask the docs, or nurses...someone will know...at least one was Japanese...maybe two blocks toward the ocean from Long hospital.
Thanks for the suggestion, Carol - that's probably a good idea. The restaurant choices right there on the campus seem somewhat limited although they are better than they used to be....at last look I'm still not sure there is much that fits into my diet. I'd have to check it out further if I happened to be stuck there around lunch time.
