I made it through the big long day to UCSF yesterday. I think I might have hit a record in using various types of public transit.
1) I caught the #10 bus near my apartment.
2) I switched to the Rapid bus a few blocks away to see if it would save time. I'm counting this as a separate item as it is a hybrid bus. :-)
3) I caught BART at the Dublin/Pleasanton station, getting off at the Embarcadero station in SF.
4) I took the MUNI train, using the N-Judah line, and got off at UCSF.
5) I then took the UCSF shuttle to Mt. Zion. Their shuttle vans are so nice and cushy! Ahhhhh....
6) I took a MUNI #2 Bus to Japan Center.
Now, of course I had to get home again from Japan Center but after that point there were no new forms of transit - MUNI bus, BART, and local Wheels bus again. But those are a lot of forms of transportation!
I had lunch in Japan Center and tried the different restaurant I was spying. It was fairly good. I liked that it had unusual things on the menu. I will probably try it again, although I may revert to the restaurant I used to go to before poor Kushi Tsuru declined. Waaahhhh....
The day went okay, it was just too long and tiring (7 a.m. to 4 p.m.). I may have to consider omitting visiting Japan Center, which would be extremely sad but would definitely make the day shorter. I wasn't there very long but it added to the trip. If I only went to UCSF that would probably help a good bit, although somehow I would have to figure out lunch along with way which isn't always easy.
Hugs,
Erin
