In the past I've tried to distance myself from who I am. I think this was a matter of fear. The whole LGBTQ coming out process is a scary thing, no matter where you end up. As a result, I tended to recoil from anything to do with Pride and though I said I didn't want my past to be a secret, I certainly tried to treat it as such

I didn't make it to Portland Pride this year, but I went last year. It was kind of awesome :) I've never seen Pride in any other cities but I like the Philly pics!

Pride was back in May I think. I went with Dadler and ran into Gloria there. This is for LGBT History Month/Coming Out Day. Pride was rather raucous, as you would expect.

Also, I'd hate to be a dude in a lamé speedo on a float in October. o_O

i know i don't know you well, but from one bi lady to another, congrats. :) coming out is terrifying (at first) but truly liberating.

PS: next year, you should come down to SisterSpace. i've been meaning to do my write-up from this year but just haven't had time.

Looks like an interesting event, and thanks for the invite. One question that I have to ask in regard to this sort of event, do they have one of those Michigan style 'womyn born womyn' policies?

they're quite welcoming to M2F (post-op) and F2M (pre-op). basically, they want to be as welcoming as possible without placing a potential safety risk in the group.

it's not like they check what's in people's pants, though.
