In the past I've tried to distance myself from who I am. I think this was a matter of fear. The whole LGBTQ coming out process is a scary thing, no matter where you end up. As a result, I tended to recoil from anything to do with Pride and though I said I didn't want my past to be a secret, I certainly tried to treat it as such

I didn't make it to Portland Pride this year, but I went last year. It was kind of awesome :) I've never seen Pride in any other cities but I like the Philly pics!

Looks like an interesting event, and thanks for the invite. One question that I have to ask in regard to this sort of event, do they have one of those Michigan style 'womyn born womyn' policies?
