I'm still not sure how to deal with situations when someone I knew before transition gets my gender wrong. It's frequently in situations when correcting the person would just draw needless attention. In the past I've tried to distance myself from who I am. I think this was a matter of fear. The whole LGBTQ coming out process is a scary thing, no matter where you end up.
