It would've been a bigger surprise if she hadn't called the cops on him.

With all the schmaltz flying around on Valentine's Day, this makes for a fine corrective. Thanks for posting it!

Will Miss Bunny and Creepy Possum Guy become a yearly event?

Good news!

BTW, did you ever see the little sequence of photos in which my wolf fursona Ardashir had his own little problems with dating?

Where's Dirty Harry when you really need him?

Old comics are both hilarious and disturbing. I look back at the messages I grew up with, and wonder that I'm not more messed up. Nothing like Saturday morning racism and sexism for the kiddies, eh?

Maybe, though I think that some of the pernicious influence of old-school cartoon has been vastly exaggerated. I can remember when the line was "Watching the Three Stooges will turn you into an axe murderer" or the like.

It gets even worse to me when the same people criticizing the immoral/un-PC nature of old cartoons then praise something like 'Family Guy' or 'South Park' to high heaven. Because goodness knows, there's nothing offensive there!

PS: In case I have to say this, this isn't aimed at you personally. I figure you're more than intelligent enough to know that, but I've been stung by some folks elsewhere online recently.

Ugh. Sorry to hear you've been dealing with idiots.

Who says the Stooges are bad? Just ask Moe-hammed!

Thanks. But it seems more like a general tone of surliness and ingratitude in fandom. There's rather more on this in my most recent LJ entry.

And I like the "Moe-hammad" userpic. XD

I'll tell you one thing. When I was first dating, I did things that these days would have gotten me up on stalking charges -- out of sheer cluelessness.

The guys who gravitate to Fandom are usually NOT the Suave and Debonair Alpha Males and Alpha Females of their high schools. Usually we're the Omega Males and Omega Females, with little or no experience in what to do or how to act, and we can get pretty clueless.

I wish I could say that I did any better in my high school, but I'd be lying. Add in the geenral dickishness of that school and it only got worse.
