I don't believe it, I actually got a bit of spam that was, of all things, the Spanish Prisoner ScamThis is a very, very old con wherein someone gets a letter from some foreign country, supposedly from a fellow citizen, pleading for help. They have been captured by evil Spanish Inquisitors/Chinese Warlords/Greek Bandits/Third World Guerillas who ( Read more... )

Hey, you can always put them in touch with these dear friends of yours in Nigeria, you got an email from them just the other day, they'll be sure to bail them out . . . ;-)

Ah, but for the free time to entice and fuck with 419 scammers..

I would love to hook a few and string them along for months. Feeding their greedy little hearts with hope that they had snared their mythical rich American who will stupidly send them a fortune in untracable cash....
Wasting their time and causing them to scream in frustration as they keep thinking the check is in the mail..
Over and over again, as the excuses and delays pile up- until the Big Day arrives, and they fork over $1000 in COD charges to recieve the huge box of brand new laptops, or other negotiable goods...

Oh, to see the look in their eyes as they open the box of goodies, and see the pile of broken concrete full up to the brim with Jack Chick tracts as filler in the gaps, and topped with a suitably insulting message in Nigerian scrawled with a sharpie on soiled corrugated cardboard.

"You been had, sucker! Get a job instead of filling inboxes with spam."

Ah, bliss.

Isn't there a whole group of guys online who regularly nail the 419ers?
