The next few days will doubtless be fun for me. The gang at my (once-favorite) website forum have discovered Christian Furs and are gearing up to sneer at "those freaks!Because everyone knows that all furries are sex freaks. Therefor anyone involved with fandom in any way, shape, or form is there for the freaky animal/fursuit sex. It must be true,

Yeah, I pretty much ignore it now. It's like the kindergarten kids, once they find out about eggs and toilet paper and decide to apply them to the neighbors' yards. Same basic principle.

It's the constant refrain of "We're so tolerant!" while engaging in rampant bigotry that gets me. And leftists* wonder why everyone else thinks they're hypocrites?

* -- I should add "leftists of a certain stripe". They've banned other libs for not being the 'right kind' of liberal. One was tossed because he held Democratic politicians to the same standard as Republican ones (and to be fair, he delighted in flaming everyone) and openly criticized one too many friends of the mods when they played hypocrite; and the other, apart-Indian fellow, was chucked for cursing what he called the "Rez Rats". He was also a veteran of female on male domestic violence and was called a mysogynist for arguing that women could and do abuse men.

Of course, the same has been done by people who are stil there, but they ahppen to be pets of the forum mods. Really, buddy up to the mods and you can say or do anything opn the HG forums.

As long as they keep it on that forum, it's a non-issue to me. But if you like the forum, you should set them straight about hating Furries being way out-dated and no longer considered cool. Furry haters are now considered dorks among dorks.

They really don't care, though (to my releif) it's been dropped. This being Easter, it's time for the usual 'get the Christians' threads instead.

Funny thing is, the forums were a lot more civil when they had the older, more argumentative cons and libs there. Then they all got banned and now it's a case of "buggy up to the forums mods and you can do or say anything, even if we've just banned someone else for it."

It just gets tiresome after a while. Look at my somewhat intemperate response to above for more.
