Well, the blasted computer is acting up again. It's been running just fine for a few days. But now it starts out running just fine when I go online, and then after 20-30 minutes starts running very sluggishly, often simply refuses to upload internet pages (I get a 'page will not load from internet' message), and last night even refused to run the ( Read more... )

Right click My Computer then Properties and see what it says for your computer. You should be showing at least 2.0 GHz and 1M or more for good processing speed, 2M or higher is better. Depends too on which OS you're using for how much memory it's hogging.

It's a good idea to clear out your Temp Internet files once in a while and also any cookies although that messes with any sites where you've chosen to be remembered.

Depending on how old your Notebook is it might be easier to trade-in for a new one compared to trying to upgrade.

Also too many background programs running can slow your system. It's a good idea to learn what processes are running and which programs they are for, some Internet sites will download programs for tracking that will slow you down.

I found I was having a lot of troubles from letting Steam run at startup. It would always die sometime during the day and slow everything down, and require an "End Program" at shutdown.

Malwarebytes's Anti-Malware is good. Helped me clean out some nasty little buggers that even disconnecting from the internet, doing manual registry file kills, and program cleans didn't keep out.

Not sure about the trend micro one needing to run all the time if you have say, AVG already running though.
