Me neither, and I'll move. No content, no business. >:(

I'm not surprised that "strikethrough" caused more uproar than this here. Censorship etc. are fine and dandy for most users, as long as their precious porn isn't concerned. If every person I've seen talking about their depressions or bisexuality would stop paying for their accounts, LJ WOULD notice. But by now I really don't see the point anymore in standing up for people who don't give a flying fuck about their own rights. Pardon the language.

Unfortunately I only recently renewed my paid account here. At least this has the benefit that I have enough time to save all the pictures (main problem here) and build up a new "presence" somewhere else. LJ will not get any more money from me, and I'll also move my future content. I'm currently working out how to do this best, but I guess now it's really time for me to stop talking and take actions. :-/

I upgraded mine to put it all to friendslocked (being net challenged, I couuldnt do it another way) and will certainly not renew it.

That guy is allowed to speak on behalf of the company?? The mind boggles.

I've recently renewed my paid account - could kick myself, but at least this will give me enough time to make other arrangements - but as soon as that's running out, LJ won't see a penny from me. And I'll certainly try and reduce content. I'll very likely move to wordpress and keep a basic account here to stay in touch with people.

Heh - that guy IS the company. Very comforting thought, isn't it...

What's really scary about his declarations, is the definition he gives for the concept "strike". Even for a terribly innocent as a LJ sort of strike is. I'm glad this man is a businessman and not the dicta... president of my country.

He sounds a lot like the propaganda-spinners in the former German Democratic Republic, actually! Or in any other totalitary state. Those who disagrees are either "traitors" or "blackmailers" and want to "destroy business/society". So this is double scary.

All in all, he sounds like an arrogant, big-headed, overbearing and rude ignorant, and that's not the type of person I give my money to.

This makes me very sad...and people like that do not change, and the majority of LJ users cannot be bothered to do anything about it. I will be joining the strike this Friday, even if this guy thinks it does not matter, since mine is obviously a "fake" account!

He was terribly rude, arrogant and ignorant. Even if this is how he is, he should consider that this might not make people want to give him their money! And unlike in Russia, where there are not many alternatives to LJ, we have other options. Of course the majority won't mind, move or care, but that's the same with everything. Just look at politics...

I know that the strike on Friday won't change anything, but it's something I feel I have to do. It would be scary if I really couldn't exist anymore without LJ, even for a day...! To me, it's the right thing to do. Thanks a lot for joining in, being the odd one out feels better if one isn't alone. :)
