Home improvement! :-)

I found myself confronted with yet another "too many books, not enough space" problem. As I've placed lineae's wonderful miniatures in the glass cabinet above my desk, I had to find a new place for some of my navy-related books. Not the novels; the research- and reference-books and biographies. I need them all the time for my writing, so they have to be ( Read more... )

That's fantastic! It looks smashing and it's practical! And I love the gnome!

Thanks, great that you like it! :) As the mirror reflects the light, I have now the bonus of additional lighting.

I've just said to Miss C. that, with a glass plate over such a mirror, it would make an excellent exhibition case for her lampwork and beads.

Yes it would!! They would look marvelous! Not that they don't already! She is MOST talented and I always said that with my first royalty cheque I would buy a necklace from her. Looks like I have to start thinking of what I want.

That's why I think it would make a very neat table as well. :) I'm actually considering to search the local thrift stores for another mirror and try it...

Ideen muss der Mensch haben!

It looks nice. And the framed pictures above, a perfect combination.

I know the "too much books not enough place" problem just too well. A separate library-room would be such a luxury. Well, maybe I'll win the next Lotto-jackpot. One can hope ;)

Mir machen solche "Recycling"-Aktionen immer einen Riesenspass! :)

I'd love to have a library! My dream would really be some nice Georgian house with a separate library. But *sigh* to win the jackpot, I'd have to play the lottery first! Well, let's hope for a miracle. :)

That's clever!! ... I have a very tiny bedroom, and far too much stuff. Could you come over my house and wave your magic wand over it? :D

Hehe, just call and I'll get the next broom to your home! Well, if you have a tiny room, use the height of it, right up to under the ceiling. Especially with shelves, there's so much you can do. Same goes for storage space under the bed, chests which double-serve as seats etc. Double-usage of everything.

Great idea!

BTW, the LJ strike thingie is on my birthday, so for purely selfish reasons, I hope it falls utterly and completely flat. The world needs to celebrate my birthday. :D

Yes, I can see that. We're going to have to just disagree on this one.

I've been talking about the mirror...!

As for the rest, yes, agree to disagree.
