you sound very happy - that is good. If I did not have a father who prided himself on running our house like a naval ship I might be into naval stuff too - although I can certainly appreciate the historical paraphernalia - the Nelson exhibition at the Maritime museum in London is awesome. Oh, the joys of having an eccentric father who owned a cat o nine tails that he would use to threaten his small daughters and a bosun's whistle that he would issue commands with - he really was born in the wrong century lol I stick to elves as they are so much more fun. Now if my father thought he was an elf, I would probably love the navy lol

Stay happy, Hugs Binky <- who is also enjoying life at the moment.x x x

Good grief - that's drastic! My dad used to be a funeral director - we could share terrifying childhood experiences... ;-) ("oh, and there was the time when my brother was asked to babysit, went out with his friends instead and lay me in a coffin so I could hold a nap...")

I'm very happy with my two fandoms, yippieh! :-D Thank you!

Am also glad you are very happy, and am still waiting patiently for more from my favourite cranky advisor... but it's no rush because you're having fun, and that's the most important thing!

.... even though the 18th century p0rn has scarred me beyond all belief and now it is very hard to keep a very straight and sensible face in my kids' hisory lessons. Thanks for that, Erestor.... you're like a gift that keeps on giving! [headdesk]

The cranky advisor shall return soon - crankier than ever! ;)

AHAHAHA! That was quite some stuff, wasn't it! And I've posted the tasteful ones! :-D

*Turning a blind eye and pretending to be deaf makes life in any fandom way, way easier, no matter if you have 300 people on your f-list or 60.*

Oh yes, now there's an absolute truth. Very well said, lol.

I'm glad you're having such a great time. Sometimes people seem to forget that's what it's neant to be about - having fun, being creative, stretching and growing. Happy anniversary :)

*hugs* ~ Kei

Absolutely. Once that's gone, it's time to leave. I'm very happy to have two fandoms to enjoy, with close to no trouble. It's really something that cheers me up, and that's the way it should be. :)

Selling ten copies is a start, though I think you'll sell more than that. :)

You've only been in the fandom a year? That's interesting because July 22 is my fanfic (and consequently PotC fandom) anniversary on LJ. I've only been around for a year.

Okay, okay, I actually starting writing on ff.net long about July 12 of last year, but I don't like to talk much about my humble beginnings. (I only became a Royal Navy lover because of Norrington and the boys. I'm primarily a American Revolution girl when it comes to my studies, so I'm learning a lot I never knew before!)

I'm glad you're happy. It's nice to know that we've got a happy, friendly, and talented community of navy lovers. *toasts to its continuation of the naval pr0n happiness. ;D

So we got into the fandom almost at the same time? That's great! :-D I thought you'd been there forever, hehe. Well, I only began posting as "Molly Joyful" in August or September, first I was lurking and seeing how things are run. It took me a while to find Gillington, as I wrote Willington (still do, but back then, that was my OTP). Well, I lift my glass to you ten - cheers for another five happy years with great stories and lovely people! :-D

Nope, not forever. It just looks that way because I've made the resolution to post something, fandom or otherwise in my journal everyday I possible can. ;D

I started in fandom with the desire to see Norrington fall in love with a girl that wasn't pirate crazy and in love with another person. DMC strengthened my resolve to write fics that didn't have a dirty and drunk Norrie. If I recall, I didn't start writing until after DMC had come out, so I believe it spurred me on in many ways, especially when I discovered that other people actually agreed that the movie was terrible!

Even so, I stuck to my journal and read the communities as a lurker. (That was actually how I discovered LJ in the first place.) I think it was through commenting on someone's story that they decided to read my journal and encouraged me to post to a community.

And the rest was history... *g*

I only started slash recently, having claimed before that I could never write it!

Hear, hear! Many more years of navyboys and conversation!

Phew - so I was not the only one leaving the cinema after DMC and thinking "now wait a minute... that's NOT what should happen to Norrington!" - I guess you could say that I started writing RNotC as my personal way of fixing what I considered to be broken. I had fun with DMC, but it didn't take my sleeve in the way CotBP did.

Hear, hear! Many more years of navyboys and conversation!

To this I drink!

A toast to you and thank you for posting this. We know we're very lucky in having this little happy corner, but it's always good to be remembered of it, in order to appreciate it more. :)

Cheers! *clink* I think we can really be happy; if you look around, we have a little oasis of fun. Not that everything would be perfect or that people would agree on everything, but that's never the case, anywhere. There's so much sharing in the community, which is one of the most endearing qualities of RNotC peeps.

Cin cin! :-D
