You scared me! *smiles* seriously, it may come one day, but not necessarily. There are fandoms out there that have been over for 20 years that groups of fans are still writing. For me, this is my own writing fandom. I sometimes read others, but this is it for me for writing.

I will cry many tears if your elves set sail. You may well find me dragging on the ground, grubby fists full of velvet robes as they try to walk away.

I shall cling to velvet robes along with you. should they ever express their wish to leave, I'll lock them up in my wintergarten! that's what I got the thingy for, after all! :-D

Well, I have been a fan of LotR and the elves since I was a teenager and my interest shows NO sign of diminishing into the West!!!

it's great to see that new people grow fond of the elves (and hobbits. and men. and oddly shaped orcs). I don't think that the lotr fandom will ever "die". people come and go, it's a circle. as for me, I don't think they will leave any time soon.

Despite the waning interest in LOTR, I still love the fandom. And...as long as plot bunnies dart around my ankles, I will continue to write fanfic.
One day, of course, it will likely all come to an end, but until that day arrives, LONG LIVE THE ELVES!

I hope that day is still far, far away. I'm not interested in manga and anime, am not attracted to any of the gentlemen in "alexander" and feel no need at all to write hp. so ernie/bert would REALLY be the only option left for me!

I am not sure about others I am as interested now as I was when Fellowship came out. As long as you are writing about them, I will be reading. :)
