Planning, planning, planning...

Introductory sidenote: Thanks for everyone's wells wishes, prayers, and positive vibes. My uncle is in his own room (aka: out of SICU). His long term memory is intact, although he doesn't know where he is or why he is there. He started eating, which is also good news, so all in all he's getting better. It'll still be a few weeks before they figure ( Read more... )

Thanks :)

Thanks for reading about all of the complicatedness! I know it droned on, haha. But it really is hard for both of us to be applying for really complicated things at the same time. And neither of us have help, either. Her parents only constantly ask, "Are you sure you want to be a nurse? Why?" which for an anxious person it only makes her more anxious. And my mom thinks she helps me but I've had to do all of the research on my own too. And colleges do NOT make it easy to find all of the information you need, that's for sure.

Let's just say, I'm definitely not hiring a wedding planner, or a band, or basically anything that needs hiring. I found my dress, but it's wicked expensive ($1000), and Kim and I are going to start looking for rings in pawn shops. I think I'm going to start just putting five dollars away every time I get money and pretending I don't have it. That way I can atleast save up for a ring for her.

Thanks for all of the good luck :) And it was cute that you helped your cousin so much!

I'm glad your uncle is doing well. What a scary time. My great-uncle took a bit of a spill earlier this year and it really freaked me out. Especially because that was a huge factor in my great-aunt's (his sister) death. Ack, sadness. Moving on ( ... )

Thanks for the well wishes :)

And unfortunately, Minnesota is way too far away from home! I'm trying to stay instate because out of state tuition is basically double, and I just can't afford that. And I hate that too :/

You were an ed student? It's ridiculously hard, I was required to take six classes last semester, four of which were one day a week. Constant papers and lesson plans. It's tough, really really tough, and most people just don't get that.

Thanks for rooting for us! We're pretty awesome :) My next post is actually going to be all about the wedding plans so I have a feeling you'll like it :) Same-sex marriage isn't legal in SC, but one of our suitemates has buddy passes for an airline because her dad works there, which means we can fly anywhere for free if there are two open seats. So we could just fly to some place, get the papers signed, and fly back. Although it won't be recognized in SC, it means a lot to us to have the papers signed.

Yep, I was secondary math for a while. The classes were/are considered "easy A" but it still took a lot of my time and energy. I hate writing papers, that's why I dropped my English minor sophomore year, and perhaps why grad school scares me.

I see. It's illegal here too. It's actually one of very few "political issues" I care about. Well, I'm happy you have a plan. :)

I think a lot of people think of education classes as being "easy A" classes because it's not a lot of memorization and formulas. Being an education major is basically getting a degree in advanced problem solving with a minor in construction paper crafts. You have to think to do it, but there's some fun things you can do with it, you know? And I'm great at papers, but it takes me forever to finish them.

Glad to hear that your uncle is doing better.

College gets a lot more difficult when attending grad school. I will say that I lucked out because there is a college close here that offers a masters degree for my major. It is only about 40 minutes away from my house.

As for planning college for two, that becomes a lot more difficult. Tom doesn't attend college but he was in school. A lot of complications happened while he was in his sophomore year. So, he is unable to go back until he pays off his loans. Any ways, I am sure that the two of you will figure it out. It is stressful and hard but I am sure things will turn out okay.
