Please Always Wear Your Seatbelt

So this morning my mom called me after she received my text about my uncle (her brother, although he is my age). Once I told her everything I knew she called my grandpa, then called me back. Apparently there were two girls in the front seat of the car, and my uncle and a girl in the backseat of the car. The two in the front seat had their seat ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry your family is going through all this. I hope you uncle pulls through alright! Brain trauma is a scary thing. *hugs*

I don't know if I can really offer much advice on how to pray, but you, your uncle, and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry your family is going through this, and I hope your Uncle makes it through with the most minimal effects possible.

As for me... I rarely pray. Ever. I feel awkward when I do as well. But I have found that praying through a letter, or private journal entry marked to no one helps. Just let my thoughts go, and ask for the strength within myself to show and let myself hold strong over what I am faced with. It isn't necessarily a typical prayer, but it is a way for me to express thoughts without doing the "Dear God" sort of thing. Not that I don't believe in a higher power, I just don't feel right praying to a power I am not fully sure what I truly believe, you know?

So writing to myself and whatever force that may be out there helps.

You are in my thoughts miss... I may not pray much, but I do think of others, and your family certainly is in my thoughts.

This comment was helpful in so many ways. I really appreciate it. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who struggles with it, and I think a private journal would work. As silly as it sounds, I know it worked for the writer of Eat Pray Love, so if it works for two people (the other person being you) then it might work for me.

I'm really sorry you and your family are going this. I think whatever divinity is out there does care about what is happening in your life and will hear you somehow and give you some kin of inner strength.

Thinking about your family and the families of all the passengers. Wow, this is tough.

Thanks for keeping them in your thoughts. It's all horrible. I hurt for them.
