Ouch....

Perhaps I overdid things a bit the last little while.

While I've been rather quiet here on LJ, I've been (as usual) extremely busy in RL. You have had a lot of leg cramps in the past, and I can not understand why they happen to someone who is so active. I read a long time ago that calcium and magnesium can help prevent leg cramps, but a search of Google would probably bring up much newer information. It must be really painful. I hope you feel better now.

It's a pain that I would wish upon my worst enemy; and that is "would" because it is neither fatal nor life-debilitating, it's just extremely unpleasant while it lasts. It's basically extreme and uncontrollable muscle contractions, so I suspect that it would be something like childbirth; except that you're not trying to push something the size of an over-inflated football out of your body. :/

I don't know what causes it either, but I sure wish I knew a better way to prevent it.

PS. Just asked Trixstir, and she says that the pain in the muscle itself is actually worse and more intense than childbirth! Childbirth, she says, comes in waves and "moves" whereas these upper-thigh leg cramps are locked-in and just intense constant pain until the spasm stops. (She had a similar attack about a month ago, so she can legitimately compare the two.)
