The thing that always impresses the heck out of me? That not only was it performed by a single player (IIRC), but that it was scored by a single person in his head. Sure it might have been scored and practice in parts, but the complete piece had to be composed in the mind first.

And originally played on the synthesizer of the day, hundreds of years ago, the acoustic pipe organ.

Always loved Bach's fugues; this was a visual delight as well.

Wonderful! This was one of my examination pieces for my degree in organ, but this gave me a new understanding of the music. Thank you. BTW, some say that it was not written by Bach, but by an unknown composer for the violin (it is not nearly as impressive). It is great on the classical guitar, though. Have your boy get started on it right away!
