Food for thought

     The continental breakfast offered here at the Super-8 motel isn't going to win any awards, but it is good, and probably one of the healthiest I've had in a long time.   They have a Belgian-waffle station, orand and apple juices, teas, coffee, assorted pasties and muffins, cereals, yogurts, bread for toasting, and fresh fruit.  I had a waffle, ( Read more... )

And if you're in the Midwest and doing fast food burgers for lunch, see if you can find a Culver's.

Yeah, speaking as a member of the hotel industry (whose job it is to put out breakfast), I can tell you that a LOT of hotels have the waffle makers now. They've proven to be fairly simple, inexpensive, and guests love them. It's comfort food, pure and simple, but it really does say 'breakfast' to a lot of folks. Hungry? Follow the smell...

Hardy's is an awesome chain. Shiro and I always make a trip or two to the one near Further Confusion when we're at the con (of course, the chain is called Carl's Jr. in western states, but the menu is exactly the same.)

Going to the US-only chains is always a big part of any trip I take down south. I always try to hit up a White Castle when I'm down there, and In-N-Out has to be experienced if you're ever out in California. :D
