My cellular contract with SaskTel is due to expire in mid-November, so they've sent me a letter telling me that if I sign up for another three-year contract, I can get a great deal on a new cell-phone.  Big deal, I already have a cell-phone that I'm very happy with.  It doesn't have a camera, or an MP3 player, or keyboard, or anything like ( Read more... )

Have you looked into a phone tools program, if your phone also has a USB port? I've got one for mine, and it'll download all my personal stuff from the phone into my computer and vice versa, so I don't have to re enter everything.

Your cell phone provider should be able to download the phonebook off of your phone and upload it to your new one if it still powers on.

Also, the tri-slot screws are actually a standard type of security bit - I have this set:

That has about every conceivable security bit in the world...

Trying to connect via bluetooth usually means you have to accept the connection on both devices, which can be difficult if you can't see the screen -- however, if you have the same model of phone, you can just follow the same pattern on the broken phone. It'll be like entering in a cheat code -- UUDDLRLRBA Select Start! :D

Oh, here's a headset for your next phone, you luddite. :D

Your phone may also be of the type that stores its info on a mini-SD chip, which are considerably more laundry-tolerant than the rest of the phone. Still, if it's powering up at all, I'm willing to bet that the folks at the local shop can pull the info off it.

If you want a phone that JUST does calls, there's always John's Phone: https://www.johnsphones.com/
