Truck Problems

Yesterday was not a Happy Fun Day.

I had to make a trip up to Swift Current to take advantage of a sale at Peavey Mart, and finish some last-minute Christmas Shopping (including finding a decent-sized turkey, since our local Co-op didn't have anything ideal.)  The item I was after at Peavey Mart was an Industrial Air air compressor; a big ( Read more... )

perhaps theres may be a lil bit of water in your diesle fuel and it froze? I dont know I'm just guessing, or the fuel got cold enough to gel?

I'm pretty sure it's not water in the fuel; There's a sensor that warns me about that, and I've got a high-quality additive (always use it!) in the fuel that prevents freezing, etc. Good tips to watch for though... :)

Sorry to hear about your Christmas Humbug, that's not a very nice way to start the Holidays. Perhaps it just wasn't meant to be though, and something much better will come very soon! A really good new job in the New Year would be a great way to start off 2011! :)

Sounds like the fun I had while moving from Atlanta to Seattle, driving a big U-Haul 27 footer. I fueled up at a dubious station in Louisiana and it never ran right after that. Forced to stop in Williams, AZ (about an hours drive from the Grand Canyon), where the U-Haul mechanic changed the water-clogged fuel filter. Still ran weakly at certain altitudes.

What's a good diesel fuel additive, or gasoline additive to mop up condensation in the fuel tank? I run an annual fuel injector cleaner in the Dakota on general principle.
