My lottery luck has been dismal.

I could use that arc welder to fix my computer chair; cheap mild steel isn't holding up well under my 250 pounds. The armrests are wanting to fall off. My father had a big old tub of a welder that must have weighed well over 250 pounds; I think he could weld I beams with it and constructed his own log splitter with it that was a thing of beauty and effortless function.

Attempting to resurrect my dead motherboard; the two vented caps were defective as expected and replacements are on order. But if it comes up in the green screen of undeath, I'm trashing it anyway... Did I mention I need a robust desoldering station?

Good luck with the new job!

Desoldering Stations are a wonderful tool! I was lucky enough to snag three of them at an employee auction back in my Nortel days. Unfortunately, I lent one of them to a friend and never saw it again. I can't remember the brand of that one, but the other two are Hako units. Self-contained machines with built-in vacuum-pumps, they make repairs so much easier! :)
