Electrical upgrades

I replaced another three electrical outlets in the house today.  Again, I really have to question the thinking of whoever did the original work here; Most of the outlets are upside-down, and the outlets on all of the exterior walls have their boxes filled with expanding insulation foam to keep drafts out.  That not only makes repairs ( Read more... )

About the only issues I've had since moving into The New Place is replacing a loose wall socket or several. I suspect this was a hidden problem at The Old Place which caused an occasional computer crash from intermittent connections, and I didn't discover it until in the middle of the move.

Also discovered that the hood over the oven wasn't exhausting because the roofers had left "presents" in the vent (random pieces of roofing paper) which blocked the valve from opening. Enough so I'm certain it was no accident. Hmp.

Ah, the joys of home-ownership. Always something to fix.
