Kentucky Cup Vaulting
I don't know how interested any of you are in this, but Sam, one of the horses horse I ride to keep fit for his owner and her vaulting team, is going to be in a CVI** (that's the highest level of international vaulting competition, for the non-initiated!) team freestyle tomorrow morning at the Kentucky Horse Park. If you're interested in watching it - and it should be pretty cool - you can watch it live tomorrow morning here: http://www.americanvaulting.org/kvc/. There are only two teams in the ** competition, which starts at 10 their time - the other team is first, and then the team borrowing Sam is going. The competition is a test event for the 2010 WEG, so it's in one of the new arenas at the KHP if you're curious to see what that looks like.
There're also some photos of Sam in the site gallery. He's the bigGIGANTIC black horse with no tail. :D
If you want to learn more about vaulting, you can check out http://www.americanvaulting.org/, and if any of you reading the community are looking for a way to be involved with horses that doesn't necessarily cost a ton of money, vaulting is a great way to do it.
