If you like it, if it's reasonably priced, and if you plan on leaving Miami in the next few years, buy it anyway. I cannot tell you how much I regret not buying a lot of clothes while I was still in Philadelphia, clothes that didn't strike me as particularly useful at the time, like a light jacket or a wind breaker or a waterproof trench of some kind. Now I am here and those are the clothes that everyone wants/needs, so they are mad expensive. To add insult to injury, the stuff here isn't nearly as cool as the stuff I found at home.
I'm guessing the fix is in to give England the 2018 Cup but I do hope that the US gets 2022. I don't think enough people are aware of how much the US has improved as a soccer-playing nation since 1994 (the 2006 WC aside). I'm still unclear on whether, as a de facto Union supporter, I'm allowed to hate DC, NY, and NE fans with a burning passion yet.
As far as the Premiership, call it stubborn American underdog spirit talking but I can't get into a league where everyone basically accepts that the same 4 teams are going to be in the top 4, Manchester is probably going to win, and focus shifts nearly 100% to the relegation battle.
Do you read pitchinvasion.net much, by any chance? You should if you aren't already, great writing and a look at the culture around the game as much as the game itself.
dude, you are totally allowed to hate them. i keep putting off officially "supporting" a team because i'm waiting to see if a southeastern city ever gets a team. i think i'll be waiting a while, lol.
ehhhhh, that's true, but as far as top leagues go, it's still more dynamic than spain or italy. that, and the style of play really appeals to me, so even if it will end up with the same four teams, at least i enjoyed watching it. and like i said, it's a good time to get into it, because there's a good chance another team will break into the top four, there's a good chance manchester won't win, and...well, it was close enough last season for liverpool that not everyone was focused on newcastle, lol.
no, but i'll check it out. i'm addicted to ontd_football, good live-reaction posts and comments on news, plus added ~*gossip~* and pic spams for my limited attention span.
Yeah, wasn't Miami supposed to basically get a Barca franchise but the market crash killed it?
I told my parents that I'll be scheduling any future vacations based on the opportunity to see a Union game. They were not pleased.
You should also check out my blog at www.aishiteru-tokyo.com so you can be a soccer weeaboo and follow J.League =P There's actually a thriving community of English-language bloggers here who write about their favorite teams, check any of the links on my page.
yeah, but it was probably for the best. the attendance already isn't the best for the marlins or the dolphins, and they're pretty well-respected and established teams. i honestly do not see miami supporting a soccer team anytime soon.
ahaha at least you were honest.
hmm soccer weeaboo, i like the sound of that for some crazy reason.
