Wow, I can totally see this (and I hope we do, as I am not a member of the Sarah fan club). But I like the ending, and the overall message her, with Jack learning to let go on the island. It gives this purpose. Lovely fic!

Thank you! I like the idea that there's purpose, that their time on the island means *something*.

Right on, girlfriend! If only it can really happen like that for Jack!

I was, for a moment, developing this theory that the island heals psychological scars. Except...nah! ;)

she loved him, and he felt like he should. When she was his wife, he loved her enough, whenever he had a free moment from the hospital (which was his life).

So true. Boy, is Jack learning the hard way. ;)

Oh hell yeah, all it took was that island for Jack to finally get some perspective. He's moved on, he's let it go.

Excellent!

YOU KILLED SARAH.

OMG I LOVE YOU.

And not only did you kill her, but you did it in a completely poetic and character revealing way, with beautiful prose and a great, deep look at Jack finally learning to let go of things. Moving past Sarah, one of the things he held onto for so long, and for so many wrong reasons, is a big deal.

You are amazing!

Yay, that makes me happy! I wasn't sure what to write, but you said kill her, and this is what came out. I'm so happy you liked it.
