In orchestra we are playing some of the hardest reperatoire for the oboe in an orchestral setting. Of course I say I'll play english horn because the girl who played it last semester didn't want to (we kind of forced it on her then) and the other girl said she didn't have time to "learn a new instrument" which is bullshit because we are equally

why not learn the part you want to learn just for the hell of it anyway? you never know when you'll have the opportunity to use it. :)
