Six words that define my life, and a website that makes me happy

Feb 08, 2009 12:58

My life is currently defined by the following six words:

Rotator cuff
PhD application
Automatic gearbox
 - all of which are in various states of ouchiness, incompleteness and degeneration.

However, on the plus side, The Husband made the mistake of saying, after watching the Compare the Market (insurance site) TV ad which has Aleksandr the meerkat ( Read more... )

whinge, splur

I just spent far too much time at comparethemeerkat.com...

As for the rest - eep, I hope it's all do-able and fixable and other good -ables..

It is all doable and fixable etc. It's just... there, at the moment.

Actually, I've just finished what I hope is the final version of the PhD proposal. I feel like an albatross-less Ancient Mariner...

Oh, don't worry your albatross-less self - there's a muuuuuch bigger albatross-monster on the horizon... Though yeay for finishing Little Albatross! *g*

Golly, you are a little Ray of sunshine, aren't you??

Yay for your job, by the way. Hope it leads to bigger and better (and research-friendly) permanent things!

Aleksandr has, I think, a fan-group on Facebook :-( I really *really* loathe that advert.

I hope your woes are soon all fixed and completed :-)

I fear I may come to loathe the advert - though to be honest I don't watch much commercial-channel telly, so I don't see it. I just have a bit of a thing for the whole concept. It is so completely bonkers...!

Apart from the gearbox, which is lurching slowly towards the great scrapyard in the sky, the woes are all diminishing rapidly. I've just finished what I hope is the last - but is probably the last-but-one due to my pernickity adviser - version of my PhD proposal, and my arm is feeling better all the time. (God bless ibuprofen!)

The link is wonderful thank you! I keep playing with it... *hg*

Hope all your other stuff sorts itself out with the minimum of fuss/worry/expense. ::hugs sympathetically and passes the grog::

Aleksandr makes me smile *g*. I'm just so impressed with the amount of work that went into it - and I bet there are loads of people who visit C the Meerkat who have no interest in C the Market...

Other stuff is working out/getting better all the time. Except the gearbox. But that's only to be expected in a car that was built nearly 20 years ago....

I hope everything will be sorted out for you.

And as for Aleksandr, the advert works in that I remember the company, but I only ever visit the meerkat site! I love it so much!
Comparing meerkats - simples!

Everything is getting better by the minute, thanks. (Except the gearbox, but cars are difficult that way...!)

A cute (Russian?) meerkat is probably the only thing that could make me remember an insurance company. "Simples!" has become a new catchphrase for the household... *g*

I hope things look up soon for your Rotator cuff, PhD application and Automatic gearbox!

That website is very funny! *g*

Thank you! My rotator cuff is feeling much better today. The PhD application is still in progress but I think it's under control. The gearbox... well, I'm just crossing my fingers it lasts until September, really. It's just old and wearing out, sadly...

I'll keep my fingers crossed that your gearbox will hang in there. And I wish you all the best with the rest. =>}
