Yesterday was a bit of a day.... (under cuts because it's all personal and probably not very interesting)

I went to a departmental tea/coffee and mince pie thing in the morning, and one of the non-academic staff behaved very strangely towards me - almost hostile.  She was in charge of the drinks machine in the staff room which has to be paid for,

I've come to the conclusion that the SMIQ just hates students. Which begs the question, why work in a university? ::shrug::

Exciting and interesting? Well, I suppose so, by strict definition! Though I'd be quite happy with a dull and boring life as long as no bolshy administrators or emergency stops are involved...

I drove the same bit of road today (at about 30 mph) and there wasn't even a skid mark to show for my drama. Humph.
