I definitely second this rec! I had actually read Shards of Honor a few months before reading this fic, and it fits seamlessly into the universe. Honestly, if I were LMB or her publisher, I would track this author down and publish it as an official tie-in novel. I love Illyan, and I love him even more after this story.

I just read this story a few weeks ago and it was amazing! I loved seeing the military side of the invasion and how everything fell into place. Plus the character voices were spot on.
