While I was in France, I wrote a story which I am posting here. I suspect it has a very, very limited target audience but perhaps you will enjoy it even if you don't "get" it. What you choose to read into it is, well, up to you! I shall say nothing about it except that the title is Felicity. The other thing I will say that you may or may not find

Literary devices. Actor fixations. Fandom conventions. Greek. Mythology.
(Aww, you shouldn't have said it was a one-act play, now I want it STAGED!!! :p )
I laughed. I giggled. I blushed and ducked my head in acknowledgment. I clapped my hand over my heart a couple times. And I could NOT stop smiling. :)
For now I'll say: "Winged words" are brilliant, and if you can imagine (difficult, I'm sure) some kind of variation on your author, with eyes turning to hearts, heart beating out of the chest and tongue rolling out onto the floor...
...That's me at your fic. :D I'm going to read it a zillion more times and annoy you at all hours of the day to make sure I get all the references. :p
You know how much I hate "Gossip Girl" in reference to this subject, but I can think of nothing more appropos than OMFG. :D (but in my own words: I. LOVED. THIS. :D :D :D )

(And I love your image of The Author with his eyes replaced by hearts. *contemplates*)
I have to say though... where's the Greek mythology? Do you mean Corinna and Ovid and the references to the previous love elegists' girls? Because they're Roman. :P
Looking forward to any further speculation! :)

(What? No, this icon is totally coincidental -- I mean, it's a metaphor for how I, as a reader, feel slightly insane when reading this fic. No other reason, come on now! ;p )
Oh god, the 16 [/slight exaggeration] instances of "girl"...I see what you did there. :x
OK, but for some reason, I laughed the hardest at "we had sex several times" and "whether you write it explicitly..." dying, dying here...

Was it sufficiently subtle for you? ;)
Yeah, muses are originally Greek. So I guess it counts. And love elegy was also originally inspired by Greek lyric poets like Theocriticus and Sappho. OK, pretty much all Roman literature and literary traditions had a Greek inspiration. So unoriginal...
(And I don't mind Gossip Girl references as much as you, I think!)

Oh and thanks for the grammar lesson - something I got wrong at the very start of my M/M bench fic! Ooops. So, perhaps Felicity could tell me - is the correct word seated or am I still wrong?

In my head, the two women are not played by the same actress. (In fact The Girl is taller and slimmer than "Felicity" is.) But that doesn't mean they can't be in yours! "Felicity" has a very distinctive voice in my head and I suspect it's not the same as what you're thinking... But they are definitely connected in my mind, both the actresses and the roles in the story (and other roles). Eh, I don't know! Free world of interpretation! :D
"Seated"... hmm, I think that's reflexive - "she seated herself..." or "she was sitting..." is what I'd say!

(Well, I had HA in my mind and she seemed to work fine lol!! Though 'more voluptuous' threw me on that a little...)
HA is pretty tall and slim but she's more well endowed than MD is. *might have spent too long thinking about this* MD is very slim all over. The line was influenced by my character Viola though who, while played by HA, is shorter and curvier than the actress really is.
The references!! Did I spy some Castle AU in there...? (sex several times/probably shouldn't have) - because I was COMPLETELY (going by my actor/actress guesses!) taking the novellist/girl as Matthew/Mary.
I wouldn't say Castle AU was in my mind any more than, er, any other stories that might have been written (:P) but the conversation about sex was definitely inspired by our writing and feelings about doing it and the (perhaps) ridiculousness of smutfic in the first place! So yes, Castle AU was in my mind!
Oh and the foreshadowing!! (Rebound girl/being different!) - had Lavinia even been confirmed then?! Let's ( ... )
