We've been mostly unaffected here by Sandy, the bulk of the weather bypassed us enroute for Toronto. Other than some wind and a little rain we got nothing. Nothing like having to be on a conference call at 2:45am to mess up your sleep. The alarm went off at 2:30 and it took me 10 minutes to figure out why the radio was on and get up. Im waiting for a server to reboot so I can test to make sure it's working... being on call is fun :-)

Hope you all had a good labour day weekend... I can't believe it's already September, this summer has gone by so quickly. R and I have been seeing a lot of movies of late, we had a couple of 2 for 1 coupons and also if you go to a showing that starts before noon it only cost $6. You'd be amazed at how many people show up before noon (nice to know we're not the only cheap ones ( Read more... )

Elder niece ran in the 400m sprint at nationals today, she finished 17th overall with a time of 1:00.47! 17th fastest in the country is pretty respectable in my opinion. She won her heat which she was very happy with, and is less than 5 seconds off the top time of 55.77. I am so very proud of her.

Elder niece competed at the provincial track and field meets last week and ran in the 200m and 400m races. She finished the 200m in 23 seconds (a personal best) and since the gold medal winner in the women's 200m at the Olymoics finished in 21.88 seconds, I'm going to say that was a stellar acomplishment. She is heading off to nationals next week ( Read more... )
