The recovery continues...

I now know what it's like to be a woman. I have effectively had a C section, an Epidural, I've gained water weight (are my thighs to fat?), still suffering from cramps, been moody for a week and now I'm all bloated. At least I'm not bleeding. Are there any secret remedies?

Hmm. Honey, you are only experiencing some of the unpleasant aspects of being a woman, and truthfully they only last a day or two for most of us. If you were actually female these things would be mitigated by 24 hour access to your own sweater muffins.

A hot water bottle is your friend.

Where sweater muffins are concerned I will have to rely on the kindness of strangers... or friends... really I'm not picky.

Damn in the last couple years I've had the opportunity experience what it's like to be poor, what it's like to be short and walk slow, and now what it's like to be a woman... I'm not looking forward to menopause week.

That's almost funny.... isabeldelaroche May 8 2006, 20:13:13 UTC
Honestly, get some menstrual medication. It contains a mix of things that reduce water retention, reduce muscle cramps, and reduce pain. That and a hot water bottle or heating pad are your friends....

It isn't good for recovering from surgery, but I'm a firm believer in a strong gin and tonic for cramps. :)

When I was recovering from abdominal surgery, I just kept popping the Vicoden and let Steve get my food for me.

hmm lets see; yes start with a water bottle, find your favorite stuffed animal and pretend its not childish to clutch it for dear life along side the water bottle, eat alot of chocolate because with the hormone imbalance you will have no guilt or restraint whatsoever, then something salty to balance the sweet, bitch at anything you don't like then give that 'I'm so sorry I can't help it and it's just to much' tearful look oh and raspberry tea will soothe your uterus...

but really I am glad to see the spark back in your eyes
