And it reminded me of a song meme that ninjaunicorn201 had finished, which I wanted to do.

Me and Bobby McGee by Roger Miller & Yuuwaku by GLAY
There are a million versions of Me and Bobby McGee out there, and this one is my favorite, which I know pretty much everyone on the face of the earth would disagree with. Roger Miller puts a bounce and a swing into his songs which often seems a bit incongruous when you look at the subject matter of the song (ex: King of the Road, Dang Me, Do-Wacka-Do), and this is yet another example of that. Other artists bring different emotions to the song, particularly bitterness and anger, but Miller's characteristic style adds in layers of sweetness and nostalgia with the bitterness and sadness, and I really, really like that added dimension to this interpretation of the song.
I really don't have much to say about Yuuwaku, except that, without fail, listening to it makes me happy. So much so that I actually only rarely listen to it all the way through, for fear of wearing out its magic. Fuckin' MAGIC.
