Jack had nothing better to do than stare out the window, since he certainly wasn't sleeping. He saw Delta head out into the woods and blinked himself out of his stupor--maybe a nice midnight chat with Johnny would be just the thing. It would break the monotony, and he'd come to find these talks with his friend quite soothing.
It was cooler at night now, and Jack took a moment to stagger upright and put on a sweater before yawning into his elbow and calling a soft "C'mon" to Celeste. From there, he headed out into the night.
Delta's silence was broken by the soft sound of footsteps against the leaflitter, quiet and rocking, the sound of someone accustomed to moving with stealth but not trying to be stealthy.

Delta was accustom to paying attention to his surroundings. He opened the pack of cigarettes, but he stopped as he heard the footsteps. What was that? He flickered on his flashlight and shined the light in the direction of the noise. His body tensed for a moment. Delta was quick to think things as threats.
He noticed the friendly face after he shined the light in his direction. Oh. It was only Jack, but he wasn't about to take off his helmet to smoke with him around. Sure, everyone had seen his face before after his helmet was wrenched off, but he still tried to minimize showing his disfigured features.
Delta lazily waved to Jack. He was tired. It was pretty obvious in his posture.

Jack didn't look much better. Once he reached a tree near enough to converse comfortably with Delta, he staggered and leaned against it, eyes sliding half-shut. Celeste, close at his heels, bared her teeth in an enormous doggy yawn.
He looked at Celeste. Even she seemed tired with that yawn. This entire situation was just exhausting. Well, at least it wasn't as bad as the last few events. He could deal with exhaustion. After this event he'd sleep well, very well. All he wanted to do was crawl in bed and sleep until noon.
