Still in uniform and wanting a bit of company to go along with a before-crashing-for-the-night snack, Christine wandered into the mess hall to find it nearly empty. Casually taking in potential victims for her social neediness, she made her way over to a replicator, ordering a salad and milkshake.

And then she backtracked to a familiar face hidden in a book, sitting all alone. "Bon soir, Charlene. Mind if I sit here?"

"Christine." She looked up with a sweet smile, the chocolate chips incident far from her mind as she set the paper book down on the table, dog-earred and well loved. She shifted slightly to the side, and gestured to the empty chair beside her.

"By all means, mademoiselle, feel very free to do so." She lifted the mug of hot chocolate up to her lips, sipping it casually. "How is my most favorite head nurse this lovely evening?"

Smiling, Christine took the indicated chair, setting her tray down with a bit of a thunk. "I'm alright. Had an... interesting day, but what can you expect?" She gave a little chuckle as she shrugged her shoulders and picked up her fork. "And yourself, sweetheart?"

"It was dreadful, if I must say." Christine smiled nonetheless, taking a sip of hot chocolate, not saying anything more on the subject of her well being. "Yet I am still alive, and so are you. Is that not the point of life?" She swirled her spoon around in her mug, peering down at it.

"What was so interesting about your day?"
